SD Labs™ surface coating products include an antimicrobial ingredient to control bacteria, fungi, and mold which can cause stains, odors, or surface damage, through a physical mode of action that neutralizes microbes that come in contact with it. The positive ionic charge in the active ingredient attracts microbes to the coating and inactivates them. The main ingredient is stabilized with advanced surface tension releasers and other co-formulants allowing the product to be applied to almost any surface. The unique chemistry offers an industry-leading level of performance for long term durability. SD Lab's coatings are intended to supplement CDC and EPA recommended cleaning and disinfecting processes.

Where most commercial cleaners are primarily effective only when wet, SD Labs’ surface coating products form a durable coating that controls odor causing and surface damaging microorganisms for extended periods of time. 

Because the products bond at the molecular level, they are not readily degraded by routine cleaning or disinfecting processes when using non-abrasive products and tools. Our coatings have been demonstrated to neutralize or significantly reduce the levels of surface damaging and odor-causing microbes on the coating itself for up to twelve months or longer with a single application.

SD Labs ™ surface coating products are, non-flammable, non-corrosive, and have very low toxicity.

SD Labs ™ products can help to reduce or eliminate the need for potentially harmful cleaning chemicals and make cleaning easier. SD Labs™ proprietary silane surface coating chemistry is non-leaching, non-sacrificial, and cannot be absorbed through the skin when dried. In sacrificial technologies, the active chemical agents lose part of their molecular structure in the destruction of targeted organisms, sometimes releasing harmful byproducts into the environment and into our bodies. In the case of non-sacrificial technologies (such as silanes), the process does not require the active ingredient to be compromised and leaching does not occur. And because the target organism does not metabolize SD Labs ™ coating products, microbes are unlikely to develop resistance compared to other products with different modes of action. The “always on” activity of SD Lab’s coatings can lead to less frequent and easier surface cleaning and disinfecting, saving you both time and money. It is important to note that the coating must be wiped or cleaned on a regular basis to prevent dirt or other debris from creating a layer on top of the coating, which will impede the ability of microorganisms to contact the coating.
